Notice and takedown
Notice and takedown policy
This policy explains how to request review, restriction, correction, or removal of material in the Uganda Christian University Digital Institutional Repository.
How to request review of an item
Contact the repository team if you are a rights holder, affected person, depositor, or authorised representative and believe that repository material infringes copyright, privacy, confidentiality, ethics, legal obligations, cultural sensitivity, or another legitimate right or policy requirement.
Your request should include:
- your name and contact details;
- the full URL, handle, DOI, title, or other information needed to identify the item;
- the nature of the complaint or request;
- the reason you believe access should be restricted, corrected, or removed;
- confirmation that you are the rights holder, affected subject, depositor, or authorised representative where applicable.
What happens after notification
- The repository team will acknowledge the request and make an initial assessment.
- Access to the relevant files may be temporarily disabled while the issue is reviewed.
- The depositor or responsible unit may be contacted where appropriate and possible.
- The complainant and depositor may be asked to provide additional evidence or agree a workable resolution.
- Material may be reinstated unchanged, reinstated with corrections, restricted, superseded, or removed from public access.
Where a final resolution is not immediately possible, the item files may remain withdrawn from public access while metadata remains available where appropriate.
